In fiecare saptamana, martea, apare cate un articol al lui Alexandru Mironov, in stilul lui caracteristic, poetic, frumos. Iata ca acum comenteaza progrese ale stiintei in domeniul energiei si fuziunii, aducand o stire surprinzatoare, de care eu inca nu auzisem! Voi auziseti de asta? Pe langa fuziunea de la ITER si fuziunea cu laser, ar fi o a treia metoda, de fuziune "locala", prin incalzire cu un arc electric (daca am inteles bine), care fuzioneaza atomi de hidrogen cu atomi de bor! O instalatie ar costa mai putin de un milion de dolari (asadar usor de contruit oriunde) si spre comparatie da si un numar: SUA cheltuie in fiecare zi peste 1 miliard de dolari pe razboiul in Irak. Merita sa ne informam mai mult despre stirea aceasta.

Toamna trecuta am fost timp de 3 luni in ture la supravegherea si coordonarea detectorului nostru de particule, CDF. Fiecare doctorand trebuie sa faca acest lucru. Lucram in ture de cate 8 ore, cate 4-5 zile la rand, urmate de vreo 3-4 zile de pauza. Tot asa timp de trei luni. In una din aceste ture, timp de 4-5 zile am fost in tura cu un fizician puternic, membru activ al echipei care a descoperit cuarcul top la experimentul CDF de la Fermilab in 1995. De asemenea, este cel care a impus Linux-ul la experimentul CDF, care apoi l-a impus Fermilabului, care l-a impus la universitatile mari americane, de unde s-a impus apoi in toata lumea. El personal a convins IBM si alta companie sa dea fiecare cate 50 de milioane de dolari Linux-ului pentru dezvoltare, caci are potential in cercetare, mai ales pentru calcule paralele. In prezent, pe langa fizician in acelasi experiment CDF, omnul nostru este consilier stiintific in o echipa internationala ce consiliaza conducatorii intregii lumi (la propriu, vorbeste constant cu consilierii presentilor si prim ministrilor intregii planete). Acestora le vorbeste mai ales de problema energiei. El este foarte optimist ca omenirea va trece peste acest impas, dar zice ca trebuie luate masuri inca de acum si ca energia este potentialul de afacere al viitorului. Afland ca sunt interesat de popularizare, mi-a oferit aceasta lista de mai jos ca sa o ofer mai departe Romaniei, ceea ce voi si face. A si subliniat ca o ofera gratuit, ca nu cere nimic inapoi. Ca el a depus efort sa adune toate acestea, dar asa schimbam lumea, oferind si educand mai departe. Oamenii vor indrazni, vor face afacerile lor, iar competitia va face sa fie bine pentru consumator. Dar inainte de a ajunge la lista, sa amintesc ultima lui realizare. A convins guvernul Japoniei sa construiasca prima universitate internationala din Asia! Nu doar ca l-a convins sa dea bani, dar el a gandit structura universitatii, ii va fi primul presedinte. In doi ani deja au dat banii si au si construit cladirea si infrastructura! Japonezi, deh. Cam in un an ar trebui sa fie in folosinta. Spera sa atraga acolo minti luminate din toata lumea si sa studieze problema energiei. Universitatea va fi in insula Okinawa, iar autoritatile locale au oferit pamantul gratuit, pentru ca stiu ca apoi vor profita indirect foarte mult de pe urma universitatii si de pe a studentilor/profesorilor/turistilor ce vor veni mereu aici la laboratoare si la universitate.      Toyota Prius este o masina foarte economica si destept facuta. Nu stiu exact cat costa, dar consumul este unul foarte scazut. Baietii de la Toyota au reusit o chestie inginereasca foarte tare, de care celelalte companii de masini nu prea s-au sinchisit pana acum. Ei au patentat un sistem care inmagazineaza aproape toata energia cinetica risipita de masina atunci cand se franeaza. In concluzie, Toyota Prius consuma la mersul prin orasele aglomerate cam tot atat cat ar consuma la un drum intins pe autostrada. Stie toata lumea cate stopuri se fac in orasele aglomerate si ca diferenta de consum intre mersul prin oras si inafara lui este maricica. Din cate stiu Toyota Prius consuma cam 4 litri de benzina / 100 km sau poate mai putin la noul model. Ganditi-va cat consuma o masina americana (tipic 10-20 litri per 100 km) si imaginati-va cat de multe se pot face pentru mediu si pentru rezervele epuizabile de petrol. Mai socotiti ca se poate evita in foarte multe cazuri folosirea a 2-3 masini per familie prin folosirea transportului in comun sau a mijloacelor ecologice (sistemul locomotor propriu, biciclete, trotinete, etc.) si o sa vedeti ca viitorul nu este chiar asa de negru decat daca ni-l facem noi.

Cat petrol si alte resurse importante se consuma pt a produce un Prius ? Nu intamplator este mult mai scumpa decat o masina 'clasica' ...
Nimic nu vine gratis, totul se plateste.
4L/100km are si un Tico , nimic nou sub soare. Cand nu e benzina in benzinarii, oare un Prius merge si fara ? ...

Apropos, conceptul cu 'sarpele' e vechi si se vinde demult, numai ca energia electrica nu este combustibil lichid.

   Nu stiu cat se consuma pentru fabricarea unui Prius, dar tinand cont ca Toyota este cel mai mare producator de automobile banuiesc ca costurile lor fixe sunt mici comparativ cu alte companii. Da-mi voie sa ma indoiesc ca producatorii japonezi sunt mai risipitori decat altii.
  Prius are in plus doar niste baterii in care se stocheaza energia eliberata prin franari si un sistem care permite asta. Aceste baterii nu sunt nici pe departe asa de mari si scumpe precum cele ale unei masini in totalitate electrica pentru ca inmagazineaza energie doar pe termen scurt, aceasta fiind eliberata (folosita) repede.
   Nu ma pricep la preturi de masini, dar un pret de 21000 - 23000 de dolari americani nu cred ca este foarte prohibitiv, nu-i asa? Nu trebuie decat putina bunavointa si eventual putin sacrificiu daca tot ne plangem ca ne paste o criza devastatoare ...

Am fost la munte, in nordul Olteniei, de la Tirgu Jiu in sus, de-a lungul unui parau, Bistricioara. Am aflat atunci de la un localnic cu studii si pasionat de energia apelor despre hidrocentralele de pe acele rauri de munte (Bistrita, Cerna si inca cateva). Mai mult, m-a impresionat sa aflu de un plan mare de a devia chiar intregul Jiu (la izvoare) pentru a crea noi hidrocentrale in acele zone. Planul, ce e drept, e de pe vremea lui Ceausescu, dar abia acum a fost repornit iarasi.

In concluzie, generalizand, cred ca Romania are intr-adevar inca un mare potential in energia apelor, potential care incepe usor usor sa fie totusi exploatat ... Sa fie in un ceas bun!
